Social outreach campaign brings TruScreen screening to vulnerable women in Mexico

At the end of 2022, TruScreen’s Mexican distributor, Sunbird S.A. de C.V., in conjunction with a local foundation, Casa Hogar Alegría, whose focus is caring for young people in vulnerable situations and survivors of child abuse, brought TruScreen screening to vulnerable young women.

During the event, 36 women were screened for cervical cancer using TruScreen. Sunbird, who funded the event, also took the opportunity to train foundation staff to enable future screening events. This project brought TruScreen to local women, while also raising local government’s awareness for cervical cancer screening needs and the benefits of novel methods like TruScreen, which can overcome the current difficulties around cervical screening in Mexico.

The campaign received local media coverage, lifting the image of TruScreen and raising public awareness. Sunbird is planning similar events in the future.
